July 29 & August 5 @ 11:00 a.m. in the St. Thomas Parish Hall:
Many of the great kituvim, or writings of the Jewish Bible, are revered and cherished by many faiths. Join the Rev. Ken Brannon from St. Thomas Episcopal Church and Rabbi Cantor Robbi Sherwin of the Wood River Jewish Community as we unpack sacred poetry and songs from the Bible from both a Jewish and Christian perspective. A joint musical composition will be created with the help of St. Thomas’ music director, Joel Bejot and Rabbi Robbi, who has published almost 100 Jewish sacred songs. Fr. Ken Brannon wrote a masters’ thesis on one of the psalms and both clergy feel particularly connected to and moved by psalms and other forms of Biblical poetry. All are welcome!
