I am honored to serve as your Chair of the Stewardship Committee in support of this year’s Annual Giving Campaign at Saint Thomas.
This is going to be one of the most joyful and gratifying annual campaigns we have ever had at Saint Thomas for two primary interrelated reasons.
First, this year’s campaign theme is “Living Generously” which will focus our attention on God’s incredible generosity to all of us. In our busy everyday lives, we often fail to reflect on how everything we are and everything we have – our intellects and emotions, our families and friends, our community and this breathtakingly beautiful slice of nature in which we live – are gifts from God. God’s love is not something that we can earn or deserve – it is freely given to us by the grace of God. It is my prayer that acknowledging God’s generosity to each of us will unleash greater generosity in ourselves.
The second reason this campaign is going to be so joyful and gratifying is that we will take a good long look at the vitality of our faith community here at Saint Thomas. God’s generosity is so apparent in the multitude of ways in which our members devote amazing amounts of time and talent not only to our congregation’s spiritual health, but also to so many worthwhile projects in aid of our neighbors and the environment. Saint Thomas is the “beating heart” of this community in so many ways already, but we can do more and strive to live into our full potential as members of the Body of Christ.
Returning your pledge card or making your gift in another form will permit the Church leaders to make firm plans for what we can collectively achieve in 2017.
Please feel free to approach any of the members of our Stewardship Committee with any questions or comments you may have concerning this year’s giving campaign. We pray that you will reflect upon the gifts that God has showered upon you and consider a faithful response to that generosity.
